The Washington Street Project was well attended by residents who live on Washington Street from Gridley to Harris Ave. Also in attendance was the Engineering firm IMEG.
Megan Crook took the floor and explained the Washington Street Monies Grant from beginning to where we are at this time with construction. IMEG spoke of the WHO from City of Bushnell to Engineering Firm to Grant Assist WIRC to Company for Construction Laverdiere. Information was free flowing with the Gridley Street to Tywman being the start for the new sewer system going down the south side of the street and then from Tywman to Harris Ave. the system would be on both sides of Washington. Traffic would be blocked when they start each block but at days end the street would be open for all traffic and residents. There will be no blockage to anyone's driveway, also Laverdiere will assist in moving your Garbage Containers to the curb, so no interruption to your service. Residents terraces would be left to settle over the winter and in the spring all disrupted areas would be smoothed over and reseeded. There will be no interruption in any Water service or Utilities. Side walks will stay open so children can have the safe way to school. When Laverdiere begins on the boulevard they will begin first on the west side. The Fourth Ward meeting ended with a question and answer period, all residents responded with up most respect and our Engineering firm answered all questions as well the Mayor David Norton thanked all residents for attending. Many residents in Bushnell have inquired about disposal of the old brown AREA waste containers. GFL has distributed the new green waste containers to our residents. We have a one time program worked out with our Garbage Disposal Company. GFL will pick up the old brown AREA containers on October 28, this is a Tuesday. You must set the brown container to the curb on the night before or that morning of the 28th of October. All AREA containers must be empty and if not they will not be picked up by GFL, Only the brown ones labeled AREA. Should you want to keep the brown container you can. Please remember that no garbage can be placed in the AREA's brown container, if so they won't be removed. This is a one time opportunity to have the brown containers removed.
