Dear Resident of Bushnell,
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has mandated that all Illinois communities perform a survey of their drinking water systems to determine the number of lead water services present. All water services within the City Limits are required to be inventoried. Bushnell has been awarded a grant from the IEPA to perform this survey. In compliance with the IEPA Grant, Bushnell is not allowed to use City personnel to perform the inventory, therefore IMEG Corp. from Macomb has been hired by Bushnell to perform this task on the City’s behalf. One of IMEG’s workers will stop by your residence or business to ascertain your water service material (copper, plastic, galvanized, lead, etc.). IMEG will need to enter your dwelling to visually see the actual water service. IMEG will take notes of the water service material, take a photograph of the service, and perform some quick GPS measurements outside your house to denote the approximate water service location in relationship to the City water mains. The visit should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. No action is required from you concerning your water service, this is only an inventory for the City to be in compliance with IEPA requirements. Your cooperation with this process is greatly appreciated. If you are not home when IMEG comes to your residence or business, they will leave a door hanger with pertinent information for you including a phone number to call to set up an appointment for them to inventory your water service. The inventory process has a strict deadline requirement set by the IEPA to be completed and returned to them by April 15, 2024, so your prompt action is appreciated. Evening and weekend appointments will be available. Please contact IMEG Corp. for further information and to schedule an appointment at 309-833-4594. Again, no action on the part of the homeowner is needed other than to allow the inventory of your water service. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. |
